Education:
Experience:
A Few Achievements:
Some projects I've been associated with:
I have participated in research projects examining success rates of students admitted
to college on the basis of a GED. I have developed an online version of MATH 1710
which includes instructor developed videos to deliver material.
Describe your teaching style:
I am a people person, so I feed off of the class. I do a lot of lecturing, but include
with that ample opportunities for students to ask questions, make comments, and practice
problems.
What do you like most about teaching?
I enjoying seeing the "light bulb come on" when a student finally understands a concept
that he or she was finding difficult.
What do you like least most about teaching?
I find it difficult to deal with a student who will not engage in the class and who
really doesn't want to be in school.
What do you expect from your students?
I expect students to do their best, recognizing that that is different for every
student.
What should they expect from you?
Students can expect that I will come to class on time, prepared, and excited about
what we are going to do that day.
Areas of interest outside the classroom:
I enjoy my family, gardening, reading, snow skiing, and teaching my ladies Sunday
School class.
