A few achievements or accomplishments:
Some interesting projects:
Describe your teaching style:
I enjoy teaching, and I enjoy learning - particularly mathematics. My teaching style
exhibits both. I think that students are more open to learning from an instructor
that genuinely enjoys their job and is obviously committed to their success. I am
very direct with my students, informing them up front about my expectations (and they
are high). I make myself available outside of class to provide one-on-one assistance
to those that need extra attention. I try to make the class interesting by varying
instructional strategies and always encouraging the students - active participation
in the learning process.
What do you like most about teaching?
I like most "seeing" the light bulb come on for students, especially those students
who think that they are not good in mathematics.
What do you like least about teaching?
It is very difficult when my desire for a student's success is far greater that the
student's.
What do you expect from your students?
What I expect from my students is virtually the same that they can expect from me:
good and timely attendance; prior preparation; good organization; active and enthusiastic
participation; questions to clarify understanding, consistent efforts, and respect
for all.
Areas of interest outside the classroom:
I enjoy teaching young adults and participating in missionary outreach projects with
my church. I also enjoy crossword puzzles, reading, and traveling with my family.
