Taylor has been accepted to Berkeley, Caltech, University of Chicago, and Duke, and has chosen to attend Caltech.  He has been offered full tuition, health insurance, and a stipend, as well as additional fellowships at each of those institutions (two from Duke).

Taylor has also been selected to receive a 2009 National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) Fellowship. His application was selected by the ARO from over 2,000 submitted applications that were received this year.  The NDSEG Fellowship is sponsored and funded by the Department of Defense (DoD).  NDSEG selections are made by the Air Force Research Laboratory/Air Force Office of Scientific Research (AFRL/AFOSR), the Office of Naval Research (ONR), the Army Research Office (ARO), and the DoD High Performance Computing Modernization Program Office (HPCMO).  The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) administers the NDSEG Fellowship.

The NDSEG Fellowship will cover full tuition and required fees for three years at any accredited U.S. college or university that provides advanced degrees in science and engineering. In addition, the NDSEG Fellowship will provide a yearly stipend divided into twelve monthly payments. The first year's stipend will be $30,500.00 divided into monthly payments of $2,541.67; the second year's stipend will be $31,000.00 (monthly payments of $2,583.33); and the third year's stipend will be $31,500.00 (monthly payments of $2,625.00).

Taylor has also been selected as a member of USA TODAY's 2009 All-USA College Academic Third Team. USA TODAY honors 20 Third Team members for outstanding intellectual achievement and leadership.  Judges considered grades, leadership, activities, and, most importantly, how students extend their intellectual talents beyond the classroom.

Congratulations, Taylor! We are proud of you!
