Posters at the Capitol

Poster Deadline for this Competition:         November 10, 2009

Entries (poster plus 150-200 word abstract) will be accepted no later than 4pm, November 10, 2009 in the URC office, Ingram 123A. 


The annual Posters at the Capitol Competition gives undergraduates from all six TBR universities an opportunity to personally present their research to our state legislators. Last year's presentation was Feb. 11th, 2009. The event brought together some of our best scholars and their representatives and senators from their home towns.


To enter, please adhere to the following poster details:

a. Poster size should be 32” x 40”

b. Poster orientation should be portrait (32” wide and 40” tall) not landscape

c. The poster should look professional

d. Tripods for displaying will be provided

Each student should submit an abstract with the poster ranging between 150-200 words.

Posters should be submitted to Peggy Duszynski at the Undergraduate Research Center (URC), Ingram Building, Room 123A. Any questions, please call 494-7666. 

Schedule of events:

November 10,  2009         Submit posters & abstracts to URC no later than 4:00 pm

November 30,  2009         Selection of 6 posters for presentation completed

February  3, 2010              Posters-at-the-Capitol , Nashville, TN

The statewide presentation is organized annually by MTSU's College of Basic and Applied Sciences.  Dean Thomas Cheatham heads the organizing committee along with assistance from Jennifer Danylo and Sheila Bleam from the CBAS team.  URC Director Dr. Andrienne Friedli and URC Coordinator Peggy Duszynski are in charge of the organization for the MTSU group.
