Annual Weatherford Charity Golf Tournament

The Chair of Finance has conducted an annual golf tournament, in the fall of the year, since 1989. The tournament raises funds to support the Chair's research programs, scholarships, and conferences. It is held at the local golf clubs and usually draws 144 players who are leaders of Middle Tennessee's banks, thrift institutions and their clients. Financial Conferences

Since 1992, the Chair of Finance has held a series of conferences featuring top leaders of the financial industry and/or its regulators. Past speakers have included Ricki Helfert and William Taylor, former heads of the FDIC; Hugh L. McColl Jr., former CEO of Bank of America; Jack Guynn, Jerry Jordan, and William Poole, former Federal Reserve Bank CEOs, Federal Reserve Board Governors Bies and Olson and others like them.
