University College Advising Center

Students finding it necessary to withdraw from the University after having selected classes for a future term should log into PipelineMT and use RaiderNet to drop all classes. Students may wish to consult with the University College Advising Center to determine if withdrawing is in their best interest.

A student may also initiate the official withdrawal process at the University College Advising Center located in the McFarland Bldg. Consult the Registration Guide for each term to determine whether the withdrawal should be accomplished by RaiderNet or through the University College Advising Center.

Spring 2012

Follow this procedure to withdraw from the University beginning the first day of class:

  • During the first two weeks (14 calendar days) of a term, January 12th thru January 25th, courses may be dropped via RaiderNet without assignment of a grade on the official transcript.

  • Beginning January 26th thru March 23rd, a grade of “W” will be assigned when courses are dropped via RaiderNet.

  • Beginning March 24th, individual courses cannot be dropped via RaiderNet. A complete withdrawal from all classes via RaiderNet may be accomplished by the student through April 20th and the instructor assigns the appropriate grade of “W” if the student is passing or “F” if the student is failing.

A student may not officially withdraw from the University after a date in the semester or term which is one week or less prior to the beginning of final examinations, except for documented extenuating reasons as shall be determined by the University College Advising Center.

Other Withdrawal Tips...what else should I know?

If students have extenuating circumstances and need to withdraw after the Withdrawal date, i.e. medical, death in family, they should fax or bring the appropriate documentation to substantiate the extenuating circumstances to the University College Advising Center.

Students may contact each instructor, to let them know they are withdrawing from the current semester. If a student withdraws after the deadline, the date of the withdrawal will show in the "Status" section of the paper final grade roster (WD & Date) and that instructor will have the option of assigning a grade of "W" or "F" on that roll.

Any student who leaves the University without officially withdrawing will receive a grade of F for all work attempted.
