What is the NSF CSEM Scholarship Program?
The program is funded by the National Science Foundation to provide scholarships to qualified low-income students who are majoring in Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or Math.


What are the benefits of being in the program?
    Students accepted into the program will:
  • be assigned a faculty mentor from their department
  • have the opportunity to participate in professional seminars and other enriching experiences to help them prepare for their career or graduate school
  • receive $3125 per year (up to two years)

Who qualifies?
    To qualify, a student should be:
  • a major in either CSCI, ETIS, or MATH
  • a junior, senior or graduate student who can graduate within two years of the initial scholarship award
  • a full-time student
  • in good academic standing
  • a US citizen or national
  • financially needy ( undergraduates qualify for Pell Grants or Federal loans, graduate students qualify for Graduate Assistance as determined by Federal guidelines)
  • willing to participate fully in the grant training seminars and programs
  • recommended by two faculty members












Where/When/How do I apply?
NSF CSEM Scholarship Application Forms are available in each participating department office (CSCI, ETIS, and MATH), or can be downloaded from the link below.

Applications should be submitted to Dr. Chrisila Pettey, by either taking them to Kirksey Old Main (KOM) Room 306, or by mailing them to her at MTSU P.O. Box 48, Murfreesboro, TN 37132. In general, applications are due by June 30 for the following academic year. Late applications may be accepted if funds are available. Applications will continue to be accepted until all scholarship positions are filled.
