The MTSU College Democrats are the premier progressive reform-minded student organization at Middle Tennessee State University. Also, at approximately 450 members, we are one of the largest student organizations on campus. We are an organization of diversity and inclusion that includes and accepts people from different backgrounds and all walks of life. As Democrats, we believe in

•The right of every American to secure the promise of the American Dream and equal opportunity for all, regardless of race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation

•The right of every American to expect a fair and honest open government that looks out for the well_being of all of its citizens

•The right of every hard-working American worker who wants a job to find a job that will let them provide for their families and also the sense of security of every worker to know that their jobs will NOT be exported overseas.

•The right of every American to receive a quality education so that they will have the tools necessary to compete in the global marketplace
|
|
•The right of every American to feel safe in their own homes and communities.
|
|
•The right of every American to drink safe water, breathe clean air, and eat safe food.

As a chapter, we are very involved in our community and take part in events that benefit the MTSU/Murfreesboro/Rutherford County community.
Also, we try to keep the campus aware of issues being discussed in Washington through e-mails, flyers, inviting speakers to campus, and special public forums and other programs open to the public.
We promote and support local and national Democratic candidates at all levels of government from the Murfreesboro and Rutherford County governments all the way up to the top of the ticket on the national level.
