Use this timeline as your guide throughout the
financial aid process at MTSU. Take the time to note events as
they occur so that you have a record of when you complete
them. Also, look ahead to plan for upcoming events. Planning
is a very important key in your financial success while in
college.

Mid-Junior year in high school |
Begin the scholarship search process. Collect
information from university scholarship offices, the
Internet and your high school guidance counselor. Be sure
to note deadlines and criteria! |
Mid-Senior year in high school |
Submit your admission application along with ACT
scores, 6th semester high school transcripts, GPA and
class rank to the Admissions Office by December 1 to
determine eligibility for scholarships. |
January 1 |
FAFSA available for the upcoming academic year.
Complete the application as soon as possible after this
date and after your and your parent's tax returns are
complete. |
February 15 |
Scholarship Application deadline for Transfers and to
apply for MTSU Foundation Scholarships. |
April |
Scholarship and Financial
Aid awards are posted on the student’s
RaiderNet account when the
student’s information is complete.
Awards are posted continually as
FAFSA data is received and completed.
Completion is often dependent on the student
turning in requested information and documents.
Students should accept any desired aid on their
RaiderNet account |
Summer |
Students should be
returning required documentation to the Financial Aid
Office. (Title IV authorization
form, Lottery statement of
understanding, any other
requested information). Direct
deposit forms should be sent to the Business Office. |
July 19 |
Any private scholarship award letters and checks
should be sent to the Scholarship Department in time to
appear on the student's bill. |
Late July |
Fall billing statements are sent to permanent
addresses. |
September 1 |
Scholarship applications available on-line and in the
Financial Aid office. Students can also begin applying for
MTSU Foundation Scholarships. |

Spring billing statements are sent to permanent
addresses. |

Scholarship deadline for Incoming Freshman and
Currently Enrolled Students. |
