Content Areas: Identify at least three and underline the one targeted for the lesson.

State Standards: See State Curriculum Standards

Goals: There should be at least two cognitive and two affective. Be sure the goals are the same for all theme cycle members.

Objective: When writing the objective be sure there are two parts: the what and the how. The "what" describes the content to be presented in the lesson, the "how" refers to the assessment.

Set: What is the initiating or opening statement for this lesson? Visuals are appropriate, but be sure there is a verbal and written confirmation of the purpose for the lesson. Be brief.

Instruction: The instruction should be innovative and promote divergent thinking. If YOU are doing all the talking, there is a problem.

Closure: Provide a means in which the learners can reaffirm their understanding of the lesson. This is different from the assessment.

Assessment: How will you assess the learning? Be bold, provide for group assessment.

Extensions: Provide at least five ways in which this lesson might extend into other learning experiences. These experiences may include centers, community involvement or technology. Do not forget to identify at least three content areas for each extension and place them at the end of the extension description.

In addition, write an objective for each content area identified. Finally, identify the state standards you will meet for each content area.
