Tennessee Archaeology in the NewsNews articles about archaeology in Tennessee appear in newspapers across the state. Due to copyright constraints, I cannot post text or scanned copies of these articles. However, I can provide links to articles provided "on-line" by newspapers in the Tennessee Archaeology in the News pages. Access to on-line versions of newspapers varies widely across the state -- some newspapers maintain open access to their articles, others have open access for a restricted period (usually two weeks) and then charge for access to their archives, others require registration to access any of their articles (sometimes that registration is free and sometimes not). As a result, there are many articles included "without" links -- the Tennessee Archaeology in the News pages are designed to be both an active access to articles available on-line AND an "archive bibliography" of articles that were published -- to guide interested persons to print archives of those newspapers. I regularly peruse the larger distribution newspapers for such articles and post links -- and periodically search the smaller distribution newspapers for relevant articles. But, I obviously can't read every newspaper in the state -- if there are articles that I miss, please feel free to send me the citations at kesmith@mtsu.edu and I'll include them. Use the links to the left to access "Breaking News" and the reference archives. |
