Welcome
Dear Transfer Student:
You have received official welcomes before this brief “greeting” of mine—but please know that we mean it when we say that we are delighted to have you on board as a Liberal Arts major at MTSU! While we are of necessity impersonal and directive at this point (“Do This then That”), we absolutely look forward to getting to know you on a personal basis, once all of the details of transferring are ironed out. And with our excellent college advisors, the ironing will be relatively quick and as painless as we can manage. The advising of transfer students is often a challenge for student and advisor alike, but we like challenges and ask only for your patience as we make sure you are fully credited for all previous college work. We shall endeavor to make the process—to borrow a useful phrase from Shakespeare’s Macbeth - a “joyful trouble,” with an emphasis on the first word and not the second. Speaking of that , please “enjoy” your new academic home. Come see any of us in Liberal Arts if we can make your stay both enjoyable and satisfying. And welcome.
