ATTENTION UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS!!! The School of Nursing has been awarded funds from the Department of Health and Human Services for the Scholarships for Disadvantaged Students (SDS) Program. Scholarships may be used to cover actual costs reasonably necessary for the studentís attendance at the school. Costs include tuition, fees, books, equipment, other expenses required by the school, and reasonable living expenses. Scholarships are provided to eligible students from disadvantaged backgrounds who are enrolled as full-time nursing students. | |||||

In order to be considered for a scholarship or any type of financial aid you must have a current application (FAFSA) on file in the financial aid office. SIGMA THETA TAU MEMBERSHIP
|
Sigma Theta Tau International, Honor Society for Nursing,
was founded in 1922 by six nursing students at Indiana University. The
founders chose the name from the initials of the Greek words Storga,
Tharos, and Tima, to mean love, courage and honor. The organization is the
second largest of its kind in the United States and among the five largest
and most prestigious in the world. The Society exists to:
Currently , there are 322 chapters and more than 160,000 members. Membership is conferred only upon nursing students in baccalaureate or graduate programs who demonstrate excellence in nursing or upon qualified bachelors, masters, and doctoral graduates who demonstrate exceptional achievement in the nursing profession. Eligibility requires that each potential member have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale and be in the top third of the graduating class. The local chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, Xi Alpha, meets one time each semester, and the Board meets on an ad hoc basis. For additional information and referral to the appropriate faculty

| STUDENT NURSES' ASSOCIATION (SNA)
|
The Student Nurses' Association is an organization of
student nurses at all levels within the MTSU Nursing curriculum. The local
chapter is affiliated with the National Student Nurses' Association and
offers students a chance to network with other nursing students locally,
nationally and internationally. The organization participates in
Departmental, University and Community events. Contact the School of
