Charles R. Ray Pre-Law Scholarship
BackgroundThe Charles R. Ray Scholarship is funded by a prominent graduate of Franklin-Simpson High School, Franklin, Kentucky, who completed a Pre-Law degree at Middle Tennessee State University, a Law degree at Vanderbilt University Schoool of Law, and went on to distinguish himself inlegal practice in Nashville. PurposeTo promote and encourage studyof law. Scholarship AwardThe student selected for theScholarship will be awarded $500 toward college expenses for each successful semester offull-time study (up to eight semesters and a total of $4000) at Middle Tennessee StateUniversity (a GPA of 2.5 or higher) in preparation for law school. ApplicantsAny graduating high schoolsenior is eligible to apply. Preference will be given to graduates of Franklin-SimpsonHigh School in Franklin, Kentucky. Applicants will be judged on the basis ofhigh school scholastic record, ACT score, desire to study law, and need for financialsupport. The Scholarship recipient must agree toattend MTSU and major in the Pre-Law Program. Materials to be included:
