Joseph is a pianist, keyboardist, composer, producer and educator. At MTSU, he teaches courses in musicianship and electronic music production, and is the faculty advisor for the Society for Electronic Music.
At age 12, he became the keyboard/saxophone player for his father's country-rock band who regularly performed in Tennessee (see first image in right bar).
Following high school, he toured across the States with rock bands (see Blaze LP cover). The next year, he released
his first solo album of new wave rock (see image).
As an undergraduate student at the University of Tennessee, he became obsessed with
jazz piano and electronic music. He studied and performed with honorable jazz musicians such as Jerry Coker, whom inspired Joseph to teach in higher education. As a graduate student at Radford University, he was awarded a teaching fellowship in jazz and the award for most creative thesis.
Joseph freelanced for several years forming an independent record label that released the successful solo album, Keys to the Heart (see image). In addition, he composed for independent films and served as faculty at Chattanooga State teaching courses in music, jazz piano and electronic music.
In 2000, he was invited to join the
faculty at the prestigious Department of Recording Industry at
MTSU (see image). He received a Specialist in Education (Ed.S) and an award for Outstanding Achievement in Instructional Technology from MTSU in 2004. In 2006, he completed a Doctorate in Education from TSU. In 2007, he released his first solo record in 10 years, titled Masterpeace, which he is currently promoting (see last image).
