Beverly Keel is a professor in MTSU's Department of Recording
Industry and a freelance journalist. She is the Nashville correspondent for
People magazine and a former music columnist at the Nashville Scene. Her byline
has appeared in such publications as USA Today, The Washington Post,
Entertainment Weekly, New York magazine , Court TV.com and RollingStone.com.
She has written for New Country, Country Music Magazine and Country Weekly. A
2001 participant in Leadership Music, her work has won awards from the
Associated Press and the Association of American Newsweeklies. She received her
B.S. from MTSU and her M.S. from the Columbia University's Graduate School of
Journalism. She is currently on the Board of Governors of the National Academy
of Recording Arts and Sciences (NARAS).
