ACADEMIC APPEALS
The
undergraduate academic appeal form and
instructions are available below.
This is not an on-line form. You must print it, complete
it, and return it to the Records Office by the deadline
listed below. Academic appeal forms for graduate level students
are handled in the Graduate Office, (615) 898-5897.
If
you have attended another school during your suspension
from MTSU, you do not need to complete this form. You will
need to re-enroll through the Admissions Office. For additional
information concerning re-enrollment requirements, refer
to the MTSU Admissions
web site and select Admission Standards. You may also
call the Admissions Office at (615) 898-2235.

Procedure for Undergraduate Academic Appeal
It
is in your best interest to complete the Undergraduate Academic
Appeal Form neatly and accurately. Documents from medical
doctors or others in support of your appeal should be attached
to the appeal form.
Return
the form to the Window by the Records Office,
Room 106, Cope Administration Building NO LATER
THAN 4:00 P.M. ON THURSDAY, MAY 15, 2008. You may
also mail your form to be received by Thursdaay, May 15,
2008 to: MTSU, Records Office, 1301 East Main Street, Murfreesboro,
TN 37132. No appeal forms will be accepted after
4:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 15, 2008. There are no late appeals.
The
Academic Appeals Committee will meet on Monday, May 19,
2008 to review all applications. In addition to the written
application, you may meet with a member of the Committee
for a personal interview. If you desire the personal interview,
you must be present at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19 to sign
the roster for an interview. The roster will be available
at the location listed below. If you choose not to be interviewed,
your appeal will be determined that same day based upon
the written application you submitted.
Students
suspended at the end of Spring semester who have pre-registered
for Summer and/or Fall will have their classes deleted from
Summer and/or Fall at the end of the Spring term. Suspended
students who wish to attend Summer must appeal but will
not be eligible for Full Term (May 12-August 8) or May Term
(May 12-30). Students serving suspensions prior to the Spring
term and who have not attended another school during the
suspension may appeal to re-enter June Term (June 2-July3),
July Term (July 7-August 8), or RODP (June 2-August 8) according
to these same instructions.
Registration restrictions for students readmitted will be
removed during the day on Thursday, May 22. You may access
RaiderNet to determine if you are eligible to register.
Beginning Friday, May 23 at 8:00 a.m., you may come to the
Window at the Records Office, Room 106
in the Cope Administration Building, to receive written
notification of the Committee's decision or you may call
898-2164.
Conditions,
if readmitted, that this committee might impose could be
limiting your hours to 8 or 14 for the semester and/or requiring
you to see the College Advisor. The action of the
Appeals Committee is FINAL and only valid for the Summer
2008 term. Readmission by the Academic Appeals
Committee does not imply reinstatement of financial aid,
if applicable.
If
your major is undeclared or RODP and you want to meet with
the Committee, you must meet with the Committee in the Business
and Aerospace Building, Room S330.
Otherwise
meet in one of the following rooms according to your major.
