Are you thinking about applying for a summer internship at
Oak Ridge National Laboratory or another national lab?
For information and guidance, see the presentation from a hands-on workshop
Brief Guidelines:
Applications for summer internships are processed through Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU)
Access online application through http//see.orau.org
Choose your status (undergraduate, graduate, in between, etc.)
Choose your program - usually
Higher Education Research Experiences (HERE@ORNL)
Summer Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI)
Undergraduates should apply for both
In order to make a good impression, you will need to find research interests, project(s), and contact(s) at ORNL
To find areas of research, go to www.ornl.gov
Don’t get frustrated with the amount of information, you want to look for:
Buttons on main page that represent missions of ORNL – choose one
Directorates – these organize people and projects
Divisions – these are subunits that run projects
Avoid Centers – they may list outside projects
Help is available from Andrienne Friedli afriedli@mtsu.edu 898-2071
Good luck!
