INTERNET ACTIVITIES

Discussion Lists

I manage five lists. Benefits-L, is for professionals and
academics interested in employee benefits. To subscribe, send message to:
	listproc@frank.mtsu.edu
Leave the subject line blank, and in the message area, type:
	subscribe Benefits-L your real name
There is also a well developed Web page referencing Internet resources
for this topic: Employee Benefits

The second list is Benefits-CA, an employee benefits list for
Canadians. Subscribe the same as above, except substitute Benefits-CA for
Benefits-L.

The third list is Compensation-L, oriented toward direct
compensation topics. Subscribe as above.

The fourth list is Tennecon-L, for Tennessee Economic Educators,
especially those interested in K-12. To subscribe, send a message to:
	listproc@frank.mtsu.edu
Leave the subject line blank, and in the message area, type:
	subscribe Tennecon-L your real name

The fifth list is The_Biz, primarily for interaction of
students and faculty on the net at MTSU. I require students to post
questions relevant to the classes I am teaching so all students can see
the question and response from me. Subscribe as above, except substitute
The_Biz.

Teaching
Internet is extensively used in all my classes. Students are
required to learn and use e-mail, follow discussion lists, and conduct
research on the net. I also distribute relevant class materials on the
net, and will often use this facility for exam purposes.

Research
I am quite interested in how Internet fits into the emerging mix
of instructional technologies--distance learning, multi-media, and master
classroom configurations. I also am conceptually working out ways to
measure the nature and intensity of ideas and intellectual activity via
discussion lists.
