Tennessee Labor-Management Conference presents three (3) statewide
labor-management awards annually.
The awards include:
We invite organizations
that embody the joint labor-management perspective in seeking excellence
to make application.
Judging
Criteria
A distinguished labor-management team will select the finalists,
conduct on-site visits and select the winners. The application should
focus on one or more of the following criteria to be eligible for
the award:
Leadership
Describe the applicant's leadership, involvement and visibility
in developing and maintaining a quality workforce and an environment
for cooperative labor-management relations within the organization.
Employee
Involvement
Explain how the applicant encourages employee participation in
improvement activities. Explain employee recognition programs
in regard to safety, productivity, quality or cost efficiency
in which the applicant has developed, implemented, supervised
and/or participated.
Employee
Training and Empowerment
Report on the development of employee education and training programs
implemented, supervised, and/or facilitated. Describe how the
applicant encourages all employees to be fully utilized within
the organization.
Employee
Diversity and Morale
Outline programs that have addressed employee morale and diversity
issues in the workplace, including minority, disability, and gender
issues. Compare trends and levels in key indicators of morale
such as safety, absenteeism, turnover, and grievances.
Nomination
Guidelines
Submit a concise summary
to introduce the application to the judges. Applications must touch on at least one of the four judging
criteria – Leadership, Employee Involvement, Employee Training
and Empowerment, and Employment Diversity and Morale.
The judging criteria should be supported by more detailed information
in the entry itself, including any back-up materials such as letters,
proposals or strategic plans, videos, newsletters, newspaper or
media articles, awards or public recognition. The entry form must be included with the application. Applications
must be postmarked no later than July 15, 2007.
