Contemporary Authors from Gale Research. Available only to the MTSU community.
Offers the full text of biographical and bibliographical details on nearly 100,000 modern writers in fiction, general nonfiction, poetry, journalism, drama, motion pictures, television, and other fields. Major authors who were active prior to 1960, but whose influence continues to be seen in contemporary literature are also featured. It includes the entire print series, the equivalent of more than 100 print volumes, including Contemporary Authors, Contemporary Authors New Revision Series, and Contemporary Authors Permanent Series.

Biography and Genealogy Master IndexAvailable only to the MTSU community
For more than twenty years, Biography and Genealogy Master Index (BGMI) has been the best place to begin a search for information about people. It indexes current, readily available reference sources, as well as the most important retrospective works that cover individuals, both living and deceased, from every field of activity and from all areas of the world.

Discovering Most-Studied Authors Off-campus access now available (login required). Specially excerpted from DISCovering Authors Modules, DISCovering Most-Studied Authors provides comprehensive bio-bibliographical and critical information on 380 of the most-studied authors in North American curricula. Representing a wide variety of nations, cultures, time periods, and genres, the database includes entries on such authors as Muhammad, William Shakespeare, Ernest Hemingway, and Maya Angelou. Funded by the Tennessee Electronic Library (TEL). Continued availability depends on continued funding.
