Dr. Yuri A. Melnikov

Welcome students, friends, and colleagues!

Dr. Yuri A. Melnikov had joined Department of Mathematical Sciences (then, Department of Mathematics and Statistics) of  Middle Tennessee State University in 1992. He came to MTSU after spending one semester as a Fulbright Visiting Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of Vanderbilt University.

He has received his professional training in Applied Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering in the former Soviet Union, where prior to coming to the United States he had served for the last over ten years as a Chair of the Department of Applied Mathematics at Dnipropetrovsk State University (Ukraine).

The field of his expertise is construction and implementation of Green’s functions for partial differential equations applicable in solid mechanics.
