Aerospace UAS Operations Concentration

The mission of the UAS Operations concentration is to prepare students for prosperous careers in the newly forming commercial UAS marketplace, in professions such as UAS operator, consultant, or manager for UAS programs. The UAS program regularly conducts interdisciplinary research with industry partners (Farmspace Systems, ISR Group) and other academic departments on campus (agriculture). This includes study abroad trips to locations such as Mendoza, Argentina to study UAS agricultural applications. In the US, MTSU’s UAS program conducts aeronautical research flight operations through Certificates of Authorization (COAs) from the FAA, allowing us to fly in the national airspace system.

The concentration requires the completion of:

15 hours of UAS courses
30 hours of aerospace core and support courses
34 hours of interdisciplinary support courses
