We have created this page to ensure you have all the information necessary to be productive from your very first day of work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please use the following checklist as a guide to all the resources you have available at MTSU (faculty and staff).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Initial Setup Checklist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the first things once you join&nbsp;our college is the configuration of your work area, including your FSA login account, computer and phone system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-compact-list\">\n<li>Computer Setup\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Human Resources department will provide you with your FSA login information.&nbsp;<br>Call&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/itd.mtsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ITD<\/a>&nbsp;if you need more information.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>After the new faculty\/staff receive&nbsp;the FSA login information, please contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/businesslab\/contact\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"43\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JCB Lab<\/a>&nbsp;to schedule the setup of your computer&nbsp;system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The computer system comes with standard MTSU software, for additional software please contact <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/businesslab\/contact\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"43\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JCB Lab<\/a> for.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>All faculty\/staff laptops must be encrypted per MTSU security policy.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>MTSU credentials are required to setup Outlook email and Ring Central<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Phone Setup\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MTSU uses Ring Central &amp; Teams for phone services<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The department must submit a request to the Information Technology Department&nbsp;to setup your phone<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Faculty\/staff must setup the phone using MS Teams Ring Plugin.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>JCB Lab personnel will provide a brief training in the use of the office phone\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Setup voicemail &#8211; PIN is MTSUVM (687886)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Setup visibility &#8211; privacy of call screening.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please contact the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/businesslab\/contact\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"43\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">JCB Lab<\/a> for help setting up your cell phone to access MTSU email.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Multi-Factor-Authentication (MFA) and Mobile Device Management\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will need <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/mfasetup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MFA<\/a> in order to login to most MTSU resources (D2L, PipelineMT, webmail, etc.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microsoft Authenticator <a href=\"https:\/\/aka.ms\/mfasetup\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">setup<\/a> (user must login to Office 365 portal)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optionally: to access email in mobile devices, enroll in <a href=\"https:\/\/service.mtsu.edu\/sp?id=kb_article_view&amp;sysparm_article=KB0010715\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MTSU Mobile Device Management<\/a>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Check you mobile device status <a href=\"https:\/\/portal.manage.microsoft.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">MS Manage Mobile Devices<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Remote Access (VPN)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>To access the computer remotely (from home\/off-campus)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Faculty\/staff must request to enable&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/service.mtsu.edu\/sp?sys_kb_id=fae3cfb687352d10a91eca29cebb35a6&amp;id=kb_article_view&amp;sysparm_rank=1&amp;sysparm_tsqueryId=2b63824c87e8bd50641821b6cebb35ab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Virtual Private Network (VPN<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Account Provisioning (AD\/Adobe\/Grammarly)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Add user to Faculty Directory page<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add user to respective AD group (ACTG, ISA, ECFN, DEAN, MGMT, MKTG, etc.) <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Add user to GrammarlyFacStaff AD group<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please complete the Adobe Account request below.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/service.mtsu.edu\/sp?id=sc_cat_item&amp;sys_id=763c094187d7cd10e393dc273cbb3575\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Adobe account request<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Departmental Printer Setup\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Some departments have a shared printer\/copier available for all their respective&nbsp;faculty\/staff.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Teaching &amp; Research Resources Checklist<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following is a list of the most common teaching\/research tools used by the Jones College of Business faculty\/staff.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-compact-list\">\n<li>D2L: All JCB instructors are expected to use Desire to Learn (D2L) for class management.&nbsp;<br>You must use your FSA credentials to login to D2L.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>D2L Training (CTAT)<\/strong>: Instructors could schedule D2L training with the Center for Technologies and Training. D2L resources can be found in the <a href=\"https:\/\/service.mtsu.edu\/sp\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ITD Service Portal<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>One-on-One D2L Training<\/strong>: Instructors can schedule one-on-one training with our office. Please contact Carlos Coronel at x2359 for more information.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/jones.mtsu.edu\/directory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Faculty Directory<\/a>: All full time faculty\/staff should make sure your faculty online profile is&nbsp;updated. In order to do this, your FSA account must be activated. To create your profile, login to <a href=\"https:\/\/w1.mtsu.edu\/faculty-information\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this<\/a> page and enter all your information. After you do this, please contact Carlos Coronel at x2359 to assign your profile to the correct department\/unit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Special web pages<\/strong>: Some unit has special web pages, for example&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/martinchair.mtsu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Martin Chair of Insurance<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/econfin.mtsu.edu\/weatherford\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Weatherford Chair of Finance<\/a>. If you must manage special pages, or want to create a special&nbsp;group page, please contact Carlos Coronel at x2359 for further details.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>JCB Learning Community<\/strong> group within <a href=\"https:\/\/elearn.mtsu.edu\/d2l\/home\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">D2L<\/a>&nbsp;provides an extensive list of resources available for teaching, learning and research, for example:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Use the<em><strong> JCB D2L Course Templates<\/strong><\/em> to customize your D2L class shell.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><em>ADA Compliance<\/em><\/strong> materials and tutorials.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Information about official&nbsp;<strong><em>JCB Logos, stationary<\/em><\/strong>, <strong><em>PowerPoint templates<\/em><\/strong>, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Shared Drives<\/strong>:&nbsp;\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>S-Drive: Shared data with students in master BAS classrooms and labs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>T-Drive: Shared data within a given department.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>V-Drive: Shared data by the Jones College of Business Dean&#8217;s Office.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/portal.office.com\/MyApps\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Office 365<\/a>: faculty\/staff and students can have access to Office 365, Bookings, OneDrive, Forms, etc.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/businesslab\/jcbsurvey\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"104\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Qualtrics<\/a>&nbsp;(JCB instance): A research\/survey management&nbsp;system available to all the JCB&nbsp;faculty, staff and students.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/businesslab\/grammarly\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"93\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Grammarly<\/a>.
