	Pick up this button once you earn eight Tier One points during the first few weeks of school! All Connection Point buttons are blue and listed in the group below. Learn more about Connection Point.
	Earn this button if you join a student organization by October 10th! MTSU has more than 280 registered student organizations including honor societies, fraternities & sororities, sports clubs & teams, professional organizations and more. There is sure to be an organization that meets your needs. Join an organization by visiting www.mtsu.edu/mymt. You can pick your button up in the Center for Student Involvement & Leadership (Student Union Rm 330).
	Come out to the annual Week of Welcome Carnival on the Student Union Commons to get this button! The carnival is Friday, August 22nd from 6:00-8:00 p.m.
	Join us for free dinner and an outdoor movie during Week of Welcome to earn this button on Sunday, August 24th at 6:30 p.m.
	Stay active! Join an intramural sports team by October 10th to earn this button! Buttons can be picked up in the Campus Recreation Center.
	Support the Blue Raiders against Savannah State to earn this button! Buttons can be picked up at Gate 4 (student entrance) of Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium.
	Join in the Homecoming fun by watching the Blue Raiders take on UAB to earn this button! Buttons can be picked up at Gate 4 (student entrance) of Johnny "Red" Floyd Stadium.
	Come out to one of our annual MT traditions, Bash the Rec (located in the Rec Center Parking Lot), to get this button on September 12th from 8:00 p.m. to midnight!
	Join the campus on Saturday, August 23rd at 5:30 p.m. in Floyd Stadium for the President's Opening Night Ceremonies & Picnic to get this button!
	Support an annual MT tradition, Fight Song, on Thursday, August 28th at 8:00 p.m. at the Student Union Commons to earn this button!
	You can get this button at Crash the Commons on Thursday, September 4th from 7:00 p.m. to midnight (Student Union Commons).
	Head out for a good time at the MT After Dark event located at Lanes, Trains & Automobiles to gain this button! The event is Thursday, September 18th, 2014 from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
	Lots of laughs will be had at Comedy Night on Wednesday, August 27th from 6:00-9:00 p.m. in the Student Union Ballroom. Come join in the laughter to earn this button!
	Attend one of our great Homecoming events to earn this button on Wednesday, October 15th!

	Come out and meet representatives from our various student clubs and organizations and learn how you can get involved by joining one or more of these groups to earn this button! The fair will be held at the Student Union Commons on Wednesday, September 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
	Make a difference! Join the United Way and help the local community to earn this button on Friday, September 12th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Student Union ballroom.
	Find ways to volunteer in the community at the MTSU Volunteer Fair on Tuesday, September 2nd from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and come away with this button!
	You can earn this button by attending a leadership summit designed for your success! This event primarily focuses on connecting students, and is hosted on Saturday, September 6th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Student Union ballroom.

Spring 2015 Connection Point Buttons

	MLK Vigil (January 19)- Members of the MTSU community will gather for the MLK Vigil to honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr’s life and legacy. The theme for this year’s celebration is “A Century of Black Life, History, and Culture.”
	Spring Student Organization Fair (January 28)- Come out and meet representatives from our various student clubs and organizations and learn how you can join one or more of these groups.
	Fraternity & Sorority Life Open House (February 3)- Meet members of the Interfraternity Council (IFC), National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), and the Panhellenic Council (PHC) while enjoying free food (hot chocolate bar, popcorn, and other food items). You will also have an opportunity to send an uplifting postcard to a sick child. Stop by the event for a few minutes or stay the entire time.
	Women's Basketball versus Rice University (February 12)- Don’t miss out on this exciting match when our Lady Raiders take on the Rice Owls. Our Interfraternity Council will have some pre-game fun in store for all who attend.
	MT Idol (February 18)- MT Idol returns! Support your favorite student contestants as they compete in this singing competition. We need your help in crowning the new MT Idol. For information on entering the contest, please contact Student Programming at 2551
	Mardi Gras Party & Men's Basketball Game (February 19)- Food, fun, and games will be offered to those attending the Mardi Gras pre-game party. Stop by the party in Auxiliary Gym 1 in the Murphy Center and then head up to the arena to watch the Blue Raiders take on Marshall’s Thundering Herd.
	MT After Dark: Premiere 6 FREE Movie Night (February 19)- Enjoy a FREE movie! (Movie title to be determined closer to event date) As always, remember to bring your valid MTSU ID for admittance.
	House of Privilege (February 20)- This interactive event will highlight contemporary issues of oppression, including privilege and power. Guidance through a series of scenes will educate and challenge participants to think more deeply about issues of oppression and discuss what they have learned.
	Habitat for Humanity Letter Writing Campaign (February 23)- Participants are invited to write letters to family and friends requesting financial support for our Spring 2015 house build. Make a difference in the lives of a deserving family!
	Men's Baseball Game Tailgate & Baseball Game versus Vanderbilt (March 24)- Join us for light food, games, and fun before the MTSU Blue Raiders take on the Vanderbilt Commodores—2014 College World Series champions. The tailgate will take place outside the baseball stadium. Be there as close to 4:00 as possible to ensure you are fed.
	Women's History Month Keynote Speaker: Lisa Lang (March 25)- Lisa Ling’s early career included a stint as one of the co-hosts of the ABC talk show, The View, and more recently has served as a reporter for CNN. With CNN, she hosted National Geographic Explorer and Our America with Lisa Ling. She currently host This Is Life with Lisa Ling. Ling has also covered the drug war in Columbia and has investigated the culture of US prisons. Lisa has also served as a special correspondent for The Oprah Winfrey Show, which she appeared on several times.
	Walk a Mile In Her Shoes (April 1)- A march across campus to promote ending rape, sexual assault, and gender violence.
	The Big Event (April 11)- The BIG Event is the largest one day community service project that students across the nation participate. Sign up with your student organization, come by yourself, or bring a friend.
	MT After Dark: Lanes, Trains, & Automobiles (April 16)- Come and enjoy a fun-filled night of FREE bowling, laser tag, and arcade games. Don’t forget your MTSU ID for admittance.
	Relay for Life Opening Ceremony Celebration (April 17)- Come learn how Relay for Life efforts positively impact the lives of those living with cancer. Entertainment and food will be provided.
	La Cage Aux Folles (April 24 & 25)- Don’t miss seeing your peers in this Tony award winning musical. Students are admitted free with valid MTSU ID card. If you cannot make it on these dates, catch the performance on April 22 or 23 at 7:30 pm or April 26 at 2:00 p.m.

	Dinner and a Movie (Friday, August 21)- Come one, Come all! There will be free dinner for students and their families. Once the sun goes down and it is dark enough outside, we will then start our movie, Back to the Future. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and come enjoy the movie under the stars.
	Dinner and a Carnival (Saturday, August 22)- Students and their families will be treated to a free dinner. There will be lots of games and inflatables where you can test both your mental and physical skills.
	University Convocation & President's Picnic (Sunday, August 23) - Students and Family can hear remarks from Jay Allison, editor of the Summer Reading Book, This I Believe II, President McPhee, Vice President Debra Sells, and SGA President Lindsey Pierce. Learn about MTSU traditions, hear the Band of Blue perform, and help us celebrate the beginning of the new year. The President’s Picnic will immediately follow Convocation, and is a great time to eat and mingle with fellow students, MTSU administrators, special guest Jay Allison, and President McPhee.
	Meet Murfreesboro (Tuesday, August 25 & Wednesday, August 26) - Come see what Murfreesboro has to offer! Restaurants, bookstores, and other businesses will be set up in the Student Union Commons sharing information about the services they offer to students in the Murfreesboro area.
	Crash the Commons (Thursday, August 27) - Crash the Commons is an event put on by the fraternity and sorority community that allows new students to team up with their Residence Hall or Off-Campus Apartment Complex to compete in small games and activities. Get ready to light up the night as this event is GLOW themed! Crash the Commons is the perfect opportunity to meet other students, build relationships, and have FUN!
	Raider Entertainment Variety Show (Friday, August 28) - Come see what Murfreesboro has to offer! Restaurants, bookstores, and other businesses will be set up in the Student Union Commons sharing information about the services they offer to students in the Murfreesboro area.
	Fight Song 2015 (Saturday, August 29) - Students are invited to attend the annual Fight Song Competition. Organizations take the MTSU Fight song and put it to song and dance as they compete for the top awards. If you enjoy music, laughter, and dancing, and meeting new people, this is the event for you!
	Volunteer Fair (Tuesday, September 1) - Meet and greet representatives from our various volunteer agencies around the Murfreesboro community. Students will be able to visit with representatives to learn more about volunteer opportunities and how they can get involved.
	Beginning with a B.A.N.G. (Tuesday, September 1) - Want to know how to be successful your freshman year? Attend this session and learn how to start the journey on the right foot.
	Student Organization Fair (Wednesday, September 2) - Meet and greet representatives from our various student clubs and organizations and learn how you can join one or more of these groups.
	Department Fair (Thursday, September 3) - Departments from all over campus will come together in one centralized location to share information about what they do and resources available to students. Collect buttons from various campus departments!
	Raider Entertainment Comedy Showcase (Friday, September 4) - Come unwind and enjoy some great comedic entertainment at this Live Comedy Showcase!
	2nd Annual Student Tailgate (Saturday, September 5) - All freshmen and transfer students come learn all you need to know about tailgating at your first MTSU game day. Free Food, music and more will be waiting for you to celebrate your first game experience as a BLUE RAIDER.
	MTSU versus Jackson State Football Game (Saturday, September 5) - You can’t miss out on the first home football game! Come out and support your team and show your Blue Raider pride!
	Library 80's Party (Monday, September 7) - Join us for food, fun, and friends as we Rock the J.E.W.L. in this Back to the Future 80’s style dance party!
	It's About Time! (Tuesday, September 8) - Join us for food, fun, and friends as we Rock the J.E.W.L. in this Back to the Future 80’s style dance party!
	Rep Your Roots (Tuesday, September 15) - Let’s face it everyone is from somewhere so come out to meet and greet and enjoy food, music, games and dancing while you Rep Your Roots!
	Freshman Day of Service (Wednesday, September 16) - Freshman are invited to mingle and help make healthy snacks for children in the Murfreesboro City Schools and Rutherford County after school programs. Our goal is to make 3000 packs this year.
	Constitution Day 2015 (Thursday, September 17) - Read the Constitution aloud! Constitution Day is celebrated every year at MTSU with programs and ceremonies in each of our MTSU colleges. Participate in your college’s reading and Constitution Day activities. Line up to read a paragraph. No advance preparation required.
	Bash the REC (Friday, September 18) - Come out to one of our annual MT traditions, Bash the Rec (located in the Rec Center Parking Lot), to get this button on September 18th! More info coming soon!
	Freshman Walk at MTSU versus Charlotte Football Game (Saturday, September 19) - Class of 2019, Join President Sidney McPhee for MTSU’s longest standing halftime tradition.
	Hispanic Cultural Night (Thursday, September 24) - This is a night of celebration of the Hispanic Culture. Come and enjoy traditional food, music and dance.
	Join a Student Organization! (Thursday, September 24) - With over 300 student organizations, you are bound to find one (or even more) that peak your interest! Before you can join a student organization, be sure you have registered on myMT.
	Homecoming Football Game versus Vanderbilt (Saturday, October 3) - Join the festivities as the MTSU Blue Raiders take on the Vanderbilt Commodores! Be there as the Homecoming Committee and President Sidney McPhee announce the 2015 Homecoming King and Queen!
	Join an Intramural Team! (Friday, October 9) - GET MOVING by joining one of our many intramural teams through the Recreation Center! Visit the Intramurals Website for additional information.

	MLK Vigil: In collaboration with the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, this event will include inspiring words from Pastor Chris Johnson, a performance by the MTSU Gospel Choir, and will culminate with a candlelight vigil where participants will reflect on the life of Martin Luther King, Jr., and how his message is still alive in our world today.
	Academic Success Series: "Back in the Saddle" This session is geared toward freshmen and will provide tips on continuing or regaining the momentum required to be academically successful.
	Spring Student Organization Fair: Come out and meet representatives from our various student clubs and organizations and learn how you can join one or more of these groups.
	Sophomore Succes Series: "Re-start your Engines:" This session is designed for sophomores and will provide tips on continuing or regaining the momentum required to be academically successful.
	MT After Dark: Lanes, Trains, and Automobiles: Come and enjoy a fun-filled night of FREE bowling, laser tag, and arcade games. Don’t forget your MT ID for admittance.
	Fraternity & Sorority Life Informational: Stop by and see what fraternity and sorority life is all about. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the 21 MTSU fraternities and sororities and meet current members.
	Men's Basketball Game versus FAU: Make plans to attend the Mardi Gras Mambo! This night will be full of food, fun, and games as your Blue Raider Men’s Basketball team takes on FAU. The first 500 fans to the game will receive a blue Mardi Gras mask.
	Women's Basketball Game versus Southern Miss: Join your Blue Raiders and coaches as they raise awareness and funds for cancer research on the court, across campuses, in communities, and beyond. The first 300 fans to the game will receive a pink tote. All fans are encouraged to wear pink.
	Black History Month Keynote Speaker: Stephen A. Smith: This year’s speaker, Stephen A. Smith, currently serves as a commentator on ESPN’s First Take along with Skip Bayless and Cari Champion. A preeminent voice within the African-American community, Smith is a regular guest on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, The Ed Show, Hardball, and Fox News’ Hannity. Come join us in celebrating one of Black History Month’s premiere events in celebration of our rich cultures and diversity.

	Men's Baseball Game versus Vanderbilt: Come cheer on your Blue Raiders as they take on mid-state and SEC rival Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt is coming off of back-to-back College World Series appearances, including their 2014 national championship. This is a game you don’t want to miss.

	MTSU Habitat Build: Student Organizations and Service is excited to announce its 5th Habitat house build for MTSU! Beginning in February, students will have an opportunity to help build a home. The build will commence in February and run until the home is dedicated in April to a deserving family! Those interested in volunteering should go to http://www.mtsu.edu/sos/habitat.php for information.

	Dinner and A Movie Friday, August 19th \| 6:30 pm \| Student Union Commons Come one, Come all! There will be free dinner for students and their families. Once the sun goes down and it is dark enough outside, we will then start our movie, Finding Nemo. Bring a blanket or a lawn chair and come enjoy the movie under the stars.
	Dinner and A Carnival Saturday, August 20th \| 6:00 pm \| Student Union Commons Students and their families will be treated to a free dinner. There will be lots of games and inflatables where you can test both your mental and physical skills.
	University Convocation and President's Picnic Sunday, August 21st \| 2:00 pm \| Murphy Center Students and Family can hear remarks from Rajiv Chandrasekaran, editor of the Summer Reading Book, *For Love of Country: What our veterans can teach us about citizenship, heroism, and sacrifice*, President McPhee, Vice President Debra Sells, and SGA President Madison Tracey. Learn about MTSU traditions, hear the Band of Blue perform, and help us celebrate the beginning of the new year. The President’s Picnic will immediately follow Convocation, and is a great time to eat and mingle with fellow students, MTSU administrators, special guest Rajiv Chandrasekaran, and President McPhee.
