Fitness Education Programs

Personal Training Education Program (PTEP)
As an official ACE Education Institution, we provide the ACE-CPT study curriculum as an in-person class for free. We welcome any experience level and no background knowledge is needed. Course details are below.

Schedule
Mondays from 3:00pm-5:00pm in the Campus Rec Conference Room. February 3rd-April 21st (no class March 10th for Spring Break).

Course Details
The materials are not required, though we do recommend purchasing them if you are able. They can be purchased at any time if you do not want to commit right away.

All prices are subject to change and should be verified on the ACE website.
The certification exam can be taken at any time and is the responsibility of the individual to schedule. The exam can be taken online (live-proctored) or in-person at an official testing facility.
The Study Kit and Study Program bundle give you eligibility to purchase the certification exam at $99 (originally $500). If those bundles are not purchased, the discount price for taking the course is $400.

Passing the proctored, accredited certification exam qualifies you to be a Personal Trainer with Campus Rec. Most other employers will also require that you obtain a CPT (not just a certificate).
Individuals that complete the PTEP Program and pass the non-proctored Personal Training Certificate Exam qualify to interview for the Fitness Specialist position with Campus Rec. This position works with clients in our MyFit Individualized Fitness Program. Many individuals will work as a Fitness Specialist while studying for their CPT exam.
