The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), 20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99 (see policy here), is a federal law that protects the privacy of student education records. FERPA provides that students enrolled at MTSU, regardless of age, have the sole right to control access to and release of their education records. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), 42 U.S.C. §12101-12213; 34 CFR Part 99, is a federal law that provides protection to individuals with disabilities. The ADA applies to all TBR institutions and provides that students may not be discriminated against on the basis of a mental or physical disability.
