{"id":218,"date":"2024-09-19T14:33:05","date_gmt":"2024-09-19T14:33:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/mtengage\/?page_id=218"},"modified":"2026-04-13T12:12:56","modified_gmt":"2026-04-13T12:12:56","slug":"seniorrecognition","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/engage\/seniorrecognition\/","title":{"rendered":"Senior\u00a0Recognition and Graduation Distinction"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Graduate with the Engage Distinction!<\/h2>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignright size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"544\" height=\"604\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/engage\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2025\/05\/MTSU-Engage-Grad-Distinction-BADGE-UPDATE.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-510\" style=\"width:249px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/engage\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2025\/05\/MTSU-Engage-Grad-Distinction-BADGE-UPDATE.jpg 544w, https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/engage\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2025\/05\/MTSU-Engage-Grad-Distinction-BADGE-UPDATE-270x300.jpg 270w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 544px) 100vw, 544px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Students who participate in the Engage program have the opportunity&nbsp;to graduate with an Engage distinction.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-compact-list\">\n<li>Receive a triple cord in blue, white and gold<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be recognized at your graduation ceremony during the President&#8217;s remarks<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Receive a line on your transcript commemorating your achievement<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Get a digital badge!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Requirements<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply for the Engage&nbsp;Graduation Distinction you must:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-compact-list\">\n<li>Have successfully completed&nbsp;<strong>four<\/strong>&nbsp;or more Engage course sections with&nbsp;<strong>two<\/strong>&nbsp;of those courses upper division; or will complete the courses in the semester of application<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Have&nbsp;a minimum overall GPA of&nbsp;<strong>2.75<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Be&nbsp;currently enrolled as a student at MTSU with good academic standing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit a complete ePortfolio presentation using the&nbsp;<strong>Microsoft Sway&nbsp;<\/strong>ePortfolio platform according to the Engage&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/engage\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2025\/05\/SeniorePortfolioTemplaterevS25.pdf\">requirements<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to Apply<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list is-style-compact-list\">\n<li>Submit the link to your completed ePortfolio to the form found at\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/qb7UkZZhih\">https:\/\/forms.office.com\/r\/qb7UkZZhih<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Summer graduates, submissions must be received by August 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Fall graduates, ePortfolio submissions must be received by December 1<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>For Spring graduates, ePortfolio submissions must be received by March 23 to be recognized at our Spring Reception. The final day to submit for graduation distinction is May 1.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All students who apply will be entered to win a $250 cash prize to be awarded after graduation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">ePortfolio Info<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To earn the graduation distinction, you are asked to create a short ePortfolio that demonstrates your learning at MTSU. Creating an ePortfolio is a&nbsp;<strong>great<\/strong>&nbsp;way for you to put together the knowledge, skills, and abilities you gained as a student at MTSU. You will be better able to make the connections between your learning and your experiences which will help you be better prepared for your future interviews. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A PDF of the requirements can be found&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/engage\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/62\/2025\/05\/SeniorePortfolioTemplaterevS25.pdf\">here<\/a>.
