Mentoring is a key component of academic and professional success, and yet many members of our MTSU community may not know how to initiate or sustain meaningful mentoring relationships with colleagues or students.\u202f\u202f&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Mission of\u202fAIM: To advance <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centerforengagedlearning.org\/books\/relationship-rich-education\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">relationship-rich education<\/a> at MTSU by investing in mentoring and providing faculty with targeted training and ongoing support. Drawing from the four principles that Felten and Lambert<sup>1<\/sup> say are necessary to nurture relationship-rich environments, our hope is that we can create a campus culture in which every student, faculty, and staff member will . . .&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>experience genuine welcome and deep care\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be inspired to learn\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>develop a web of significant relationships\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>explore questions of meaning and purpose (17-18).\u202f\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>During spring semester, AIM participants will:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>complete readings to learn about best practices of mentoring\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>attend monthly meetings\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>create a Mentoring Action Plan.\u202f\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The following fall will find participants:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>implementing Mentoring Action Plan supported by consultations with AIM facilitators and\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>partnering with the Center for Teaching and Mentoring to present panel workshops.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>\u202fThe program is open to full-time faculty.
