    Biography

    Richard Mpoyi (Doctor of Business Administration, Southern Illinois University) is a Professor of Management. Since 1998, he has been a faculty in the Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). He teaches Strategic Management, International Business, and Global Comparative Management.     Richard Mpoyi (Doctor of Business Administration, Southern Illinois University) is a Professor of Management. Since 1998, he has been a faculty in the Jones College of Business at Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU). He teaches Strategic Management, International Business, and Global Comparative Management. His areas of expertise include the study of various aspects of the new global competitive landscape such as rising competitive strength of emerging economies, development challenges facing African nations, and internationalization of business curriculum. He has presented numerous papers at professional conferences in the United States and a few other countries. He has published several articles in scholarly journals. As his research involves global competition, he has taken part in many foreign trips. He has travelled to Canada, Europe (Belgium, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom), Asia (China and Japan), and Africa (Botswana, Congo, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, South Africa, and Zambia). Prior to joining MTSU, he taught at Western Illinois University (visiting assistant professor), and at Southern Illinois University (teaching assistant). However, his academic career started much earlier in Congo where he was an instructor at the University of Kinshasa (D.R. Congo).
