A partnership of organizations is expanding free legal help for journalists through the Protecting Journalists Pro Bono Program – ProJourn – the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press announced.

“ProJourn is an innovative approach to providing journalists — small news organizations, nonprofit newsrooms, documentary filmmakers and freelancers — no-cost legal help with pre-publication review and public-records access,” the Reporters Committee said.

The partnership consists of the Reporters Committee, which will operate the program, along with Microsoft Corp., the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, and law firm Davis Wright Tremaine.
