What does that mean?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablean-early-interventionist-will-be-coming-into-my-home-to-work-with-me-and-my-child-what-does-that-mean\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingan-early-interventionist-will-be-coming-into-my-home-to-work-with-me-and-my-child-what-does-that-mean\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p>Early Intervention in the home allows an Early Interventionist\u00a0(EI) to come in and work with you and your child on the goals that\u00a0you and the team have chosen for the Individualized Family\u00a0Service Plan (IFSP). During visits, they will talk with you about the\u00a0IFSP goals and what is happening with the child or your family\u00a0and provide specific support for your child\u2019s and family\u2019s goals.\u00a0<strong>They will try to make sure your priorities are the focus of\u00a0their visits.<\/strong>\u00a0During visits, the EI may: watch you and your child\u00a0while you do things you normally do during your day and talk with\u00a0you about how a goal could be addressed, show you how to help\u00a0your child learn a skill, talk to you about how you can help your\u00a0child learn things during the day, problem-solve with you, and talk\u00a0with you about how your child is growing and learning.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingdo-i-need-to-be-there-for-the-visit\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandabledo-i-need-to-be-there-for-the-visit\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandabledo-i-need-to-be-there-for-the-visit\">Do I need to be there for the visit?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandabledo-i-need-to-be-there-for-the-visit\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingdo-i-need-to-be-there-for-the-visit\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p>Yes, you, and other family members that are around your child\u00a0on a regular basis, are an important part of each visit. You talk\u00a0with and do things with your child and the EI during the visit. This\u00a0is a time for you and the EI to talk about activities and ideas that\u00a0you can do with your child throughout the week to help him\/her\u00a0learn new things.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingwhat-if-my-child-is-in-child-care-can-the-early-interventionist-see-him-her-there\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablewhat-if-my-child-is-in-child-care-can-the-early-interventionist-see-him-her-there\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-if-my-child-is-in-child-care-can-the-early-interventionist-see-him-her-there\">What if my child is in child care? Can the Early\u00a0Interventionist see him\/her there?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-if-my-child-is-in-child-care-can-the-early-interventionist-see-him-her-there\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingwhat-if-my-child-is-in-child-care-can-the-early-interventionist-see-him-her-there\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p>The EI can work with your child at the child care program if this\u00a0is the best for your family. The EI will share ideas with the\u00a0childcare provider in order to help him\/her work with your child\u00a0throughout the week. The EI will email notes to you at the end of\u00a0MTSU Home and Community Based Early Intervention Program\u00a0Q\/A Program Overview\u00a0each visit. The note will tell you what happened or was discussed\u00a0during the visit and what you or the EI may do between visits.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headinghow-long-will-the-early-interventionist-stay\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablehow-long-will-the-early-interventionist-stay\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablehow-long-will-the-early-interventionist-stay\">How long will the Early Interventionist stay?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablehow-long-will-the-early-interventionist-stay\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headinghow-long-will-the-early-interventionist-stay\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p>Typically, one hour. However, your IFSP may reference a\u00a0different amount of time.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingwhat-kinds-of-activities-can-i-expect-the-ei-to-provide\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablewhat-kinds-of-activities-can-i-expect-the-ei-to-provide\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-kinds-of-activities-can-i-expect-the-ei-to-provide\">What kinds of activities can I expect the EI to provide?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-kinds-of-activities-can-i-expect-the-ei-to-provide\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingwhat-kinds-of-activities-can-i-expect-the-ei-to-provide\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p>Activities are based on the goals from your IFSP and your priorities. The EI will use materials and activities that are in your\u00a0family\u2019s home and part of your day (such as meal times, playing\u00a0with siblings, etc.). You and the EI will find ways to use the things\u00a0you do at home or within the community and have in your home\u00a0each day to help your child learn new skills.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingwhat-if-i-dont-understand-what-the-ei-is-doing-or-want-them-to-try-something-else\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablewhat-if-i-dont-understand-what-the-ei-is-doing-or-want-them-to-try-something-else\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-if-i-dont-understand-what-the-ei-is-doing-or-want-them-to-try-something-else\">What if I don\u2019t understand what the EI is doing, or want\u00a0them to try something else?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-if-i-dont-understand-what-the-ei-is-doing-or-want-them-to-try-something-else\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingwhat-if-i-dont-understand-what-the-ei-is-doing-or-want-them-to-try-something-else\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p>Your input is the most important when planning and working\u00a0with your child.
