Ever wondered what students write in other classes and why? How might these writing experiences influence how they approach writing in your classroom? Please join Writing Studies scholars Julie Myatt Barger and Kate Pantelides for this interactive workshop about the kinds of writing that happen across the curriculum. Participants are invited to bring a document indicative of how scholars and students in their respective disciplines write. Using guided questions, attendees will analyze the documents to determine what their discipline values in comparison to others. The workshop will close with specific recommendations for writing project design that will allow students to perform the intellectual work required of novices in their chosen field.
