In this workshop, you will learn how to best use the author identifier and impact metrics tools, such as ORCID and ResearcherID, to develop a profile of your scholarly and creative work. These tools seek to solve the name disambiguation problem by asking scholars to create a unique identifier, link all of their scholarly output to the platform, and use the identifier when submitting or creating future scholarly work. Author identifiers provide robust, and growing, integration into other indexes like Web of Science, Scopus, CrossRef, MLA International, and others. Author identifiers enable additional benefits, such as quantifying researcher citation metrics, and identifying and recognizing diverse outputs such as conferences, intellectual property, data sets, standards, open-access articles, creative work, and supervision of student scholarship.

This workshop will be of interest to faculty and graduate students.
