lvey Chance Memorial Scholarship

Application and essay required

Recipient must be an undergraduate Business Education student who has completed at least 80 semester hours with a GPA of 3.0 or better and has a minimum of 15 semester hours in the major; or a Master of Business Education major admitted to candidacy. This is a one-time scholarship of $1,500. Application and essay must be delivered to the Department of Marketing, BAS N429.

Nancy Fann Business Education Scholarship

Application and essay required

Needs-based scholarship for one student. Recipient must be an undergraduate business education student that has completed at least 30 semester hours total with at least 15 hours at MTSU and an overall GPA (cumulative) of 3.0; or a Master of Business Education student admitted to candidacy seeking licensure. Scholarship is renewable if GPA is maintained and funds are available. $1,500 per semester (Fall and Spring only}. Application and essay must be delivered to the Department of Marketing, BAS N429.

Sales Enrichment Fund Scholarship

Application, essay, and resume required

Recipient must be a Marketing major who has completed at least 60 semester hours with a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and must write an essay (maximum one page, double-spaced) that states career plans and interest in professional sales. This is a one-time scholarship of $1000.00. Awarded to a maximum of three students. Application, essay, and resume must be delivered to the Department of Marketing, BAS N429.

Sports Marketing Scholarship

Application required

Recipient must be a Marketing major, have an interest in Sports Marketing, and be a full-time student enrolled in at least 12 hours. Student must also have completed at least one semester of the junior year (72 hours excluding Developmental Studies courses); and have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (excluding Prescribed Courses). This is a one-time scholarship of $500.00. Application must be delivered to the Department of Marketing, BAS N429.

J.D. and Marge Vance Scholarship

Application required

Recipient must be a Marketing major, resident of Tennessee, and be a full-time student (enrolled in at least 12 semester hours). Recipient must also be at sophomore level (having completed at least 30 semester hours (excluding Prescribed Courses) by the end of the previous summer and must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 (excluding Prescribed Courses). 

The scholarship is $3,000/semester beginning in the Fall and will be renewed for five successive semesters (excluding summers) so long as requirements are met. Application must be delivered to the Department of Marketing, BAS N429.

Marketing Internship Scholarship sponsored by Northwestern Mutual

Application, letter of recommendation, and statement required 

Awarded to a Marketing major with a GPA of 2.5 or higher and who has at least one semester remaining before graduation.  Applicant must have either completed the internship course (MKT 4950) within the last 2 semesters (Fall or Summer) or be currently enrolled in the course. A letter of recommendation from the internship employer of record must be submitted along with a statement describing the importance of the internship experience (see application for more details).  The one-time award is $500.00.  Two applicants will be chosen to receive the award.  Application and other required materials must be delivered to the Department of Marketing, BAS N429.

Elaine Stepp Parchment Award

Recipient determined by Awards Committee 

Award given to the outstanding junior in Business Education. Recipient must be a current, full-time student at MTSU for the last two semesters and have completed 60-89 semester hours toward the major. (Determined by GPA)

Joe E. Sawyer Business Education Award

Recipient determined by Awards Committee

Recipient must be a Business Education major (non-teaching majors are excluded), have completed 90 semester hours toward the appropriate program OR a Master of Business Education major admitted to candidacy and seeking initial licensure.

If the above requirements are met, the student with the highest grade point average will receive the award. (NOTE: When less than .1 of a point separates two or more students who otherwise meet the requirements, the department Awards Committee will make the final selection based on other factors it deems appropriate.) Award is a one-time amount of $500. 

Bernard Goldstein Outstanding Marketing Student Award

Recipient determined by Awards Committee 

Awarded to a Marketing major with junior standing (60+ hours completed} with high GPA and is a one-time award of $250. 

Michael L. Heath Memorial Scholarship

Recipient determined by Awards Committee

Awarded to a Marketing major who is a junior or senior and who has a minimum 2.5 grade point average.  Preference will be given to a student who is personable, intending to pursue a career in sales and be a graduate of a Tennessee high school.  Financial need, in the broadest sense, may be a consideration.  Prior recipients are not disqualified from consideration for this scholarship during subsequent years.  The one-time award is $500.
