Scates, Arthur J.

First Lieutenant Arthur J. Scates left school to fly B-24 Liberator bombers over North Africa with the 389th Bomber Group, Heavy, 567th Bomber Squadron of the US Army Air Corps. His plane was shot down off the coast of Crete on July 9, 1943.

Arthur J Scates is buried or memorialized at Tablets of the Missing at North Africa American Cemetery, Carthage, Tunisia. This is an American Battle Monuments Commission location.
