While an MTSU student, John Bragg, Sr.  played four years of basketball and baseball as well as a year of tennis and was a two-year letterman in golf during MT's first two seasons in that sport. A football manager during one of his years, Bragg also was editor of the campus newspaper, "Sidelines," and active in student government.
