Lance Cpl. Andrew P. Carpenter died on February 19, 2011, of wounds received on February 14 while serving in the Helmand province, Afghanistan, on his second deployment at the age of 27. He was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 8th Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C. 

Andrew was married to Crissie.  His son Landon was born after his passing.
