Brandon, Alfred J., Jr.

According to Joe Nunley’s book, The Raider Forties, Alfred J. Brandon “was from Murfreesboro and a member of one of Tennessee’s better-known teaching families.”  He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944 as a Pharmacist Mate after graduating from Middle Tennessee State College with a bachelor of science. He contracted plastic anemia during his service and died on September 26, 1945.
