Army Staff Sergeant Wesley Gilley was born on April 14, 1921 and was from Morrison, Tennessee. Staff Sergeant Gilley and thirty other U.S. servicemen in the 66th Infantry Division, 262nd Infantry Regiment, died during a German ambush on February 20, 1945 in southern France.
