Example letter. The Veteran may use it and a dependent may use it, IF the veteran transferred those benefits to them while in service and after obligated additional time. Then if undergrad &#8211; do your BUAF, then if Ch35 &#8211; use the Benefits Deferment if needed. You can confirm your classes when your balance is at zero.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingwhat-is-a-coe\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablewhat-is-a-coe\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-is-a-coe\">What is a COE?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-is-a-coe\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingwhat-is-a-coe\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A COE is a Certificate of Eligibility that is sent to you by the VA after you apply for it on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.va.gov\/education\/how-to-apply\/\">VA.GOV website<\/a>.  You will be required to make an ID.ME account. Students under 18 can have their parents apply via paper application. All students using benefits are required to have one.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-mtsu-blocks-expandable-item accordion-item expandable-heading expandable-heading-lightblock\"><h2 class=\"accordion-header\" id=\"headingwhat-is-an-sou\"><button class=\"accordion-button collapsed\" type=\"button\" data-bs-toggle=\"collapse\" data-bs-target=\"#collapsenewExpandablewhat-is-an-sou\" aria-expanded=\"false\" aria-controls=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-is-an-sou\">What is an SOU?<\/button><\/h2><div id=\"collapsenewExpandablewhat-is-an-sou\" class=\"accordion-collapse collapse expandable-content expandable-content-lightblock\" aria-labelledby=\"headingwhat-is-an-sou\" data-bs-parent=\"#newExpandable\"><div class=\"accordion-body\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">SOU is you Statement of Understanding that lets the Daniels Center know you want to use your VA benefits. That gets sent to us. You will then do your SOU and your BUAF. (Ch 35 may also be able to use the Benefits Deferment if needed) Then EVERY SEMESTER AFTER REGISTRATION, you will do a new SOU and BUAF.
