The service authenticates your identity, as well as monitors and records your computer screen, microphone input and the video from your webcam. <a href=\"https:\/\/support.proctoru.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360041150431-Record-Instructions-for-Test-takers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Review the RECORD+ proctoring service page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Before You Take Your Exam:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"1\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/online\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/72\/2025\/09\/ProctorU-_-Steps-for-Creating-a-ProctorU-Account-inside-D2L.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Create your ProctorU Account<\/a>. (Inside the LMS. Do not go to the ProctorU website.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Download and install the <a href=\"https:\/\/guardian.meazurelearning.com\/\">Guardian Browser<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/go.proctoru.com\/users\/3425357\/system-metrics\/new\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Test Your Equipment<\/a> to make sure your hardware is compatible with ProctorU.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Find an Acceptable Space to take your exam. (The space needs to be quiet, well lit, and away from other people.)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You must have a front-facing camera to complete the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/support.proctoru.com\/hc\/en-us\/articles\/360057663591-How-to-Perform-a-Monitor-Scan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">monitor scan<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Use a fast and reliable internet connection. (Only use the Guardian browser when taking a proctored exam.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Log into &nbsp;(<a href=\"https:\/\/elearn.mtsu.edu\/d2l\/home\">D2L<\/a>)&nbsp;with the Guardian Browser\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do<\/strong> <strong>Not<\/strong> go to or log into the ProctorU website.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Click the <strong>ProctorU<\/strong>&nbsp;button in the top navbar.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Do Not <\/strong>click the Quiz button.<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/online\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/72\/2025\/09\/image-1.jpg\" alt=\"Course Home\/ Content\/Assessments\/ProctorU\"><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You should see a <strong>list<\/strong>&nbsp;of the quizzes that are being proctored.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Confirm<\/strong>&nbsp;you are in the window of time to take the proctored exam.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If the window of time to take the&nbsp; proctored quiz has <strong>closed<\/strong>, you will not see the quiz<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the window of time for the proctored quiz has <strong>not started<\/strong>, you will not see the quiz.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Locate <\/strong>the quiz you want to take &amp; click the title, of that exam.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The quiz should start.\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You will need a computer with a <strong>camera, microphone<\/strong> and your <strong>picture ID<\/strong> to take your exam.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Note:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>You Do Not schedule exams with ProctorU<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>You can only take the quiz during the time frame, set by your instructor.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Record+ exams will only show when logging in to <a href=\"https:\/\/elearn.mtsu.edu\/d2l\/home\">D2L<\/a>, with the <a href=\"https:\/\/guardian.meazurelearning.com\/\">Guardian Browser,<\/a>&nbsp;when the exam is open.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If you are being asked to enter a password \u2013 You may not be using the Guardian browser <strong>or<\/strong>&nbsp;you went to the quizzes button, and the quiz is not using ProctorU.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:5px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-wide\" \/>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"alignleft size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"105\" height=\"110\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/online\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/72\/2025\/09\/Picture5.png\" alt=\"No sign: Your computer must us Windows or Mac OS.\" class=\"wp-image-3709\" style=\"width:auto;height:50px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Chromebooks, smartphones, tablets, &amp; iPads are not supported!
