These video tapes are copies of originals made by Television Services of Middle Tennessee State University.

Agency History/Biographical Sketch

The Governor's School for the Arts held at Middle Tennessee State University is one of several Governor's Schools created under the administration of Governor Lamar Alexander and administered by the State Department of Education.  The program offers intensive study in art, theater and music for rising eleventh and twelfth grade students.  Participants are selected in competitive auditions open to Tennessee residents who attend public or private schools.  Student performances in theater and music climax the four-week session.

Scope and Content

Half-inch video tapes of Governor's School performances held Thursday 10 July and Friday 11 July 1986 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center, Nashville.


Audio visual materials are filed by tape number in the audio visual archives.
