Numerous campus construction projects are ongoing or were recently completed. Here is a brief update on those recent and current projects:<\/p>\n

Middle Tennessee Boulevard<\/strong><\/p>\n

Currently under construction <\/em><\/p>\n

Scope of work:<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Widening 0.8-mile section of Middle Tennessee Boulevard between East Main and Greenland to a divided four-lane street<\/li>\n
  • Landscaped median with dedicated turn lanes<\/li>\n
  • Improved pedestrian walks and crossings<\/li>\n
  • Bike lanes<\/li>\n
  • Improved lighting<\/li>\n
  • New underground utilities<\/li>\n
  • Monument entry walls to\u00a0MTSU campus<\/li>\n
  • New drop-off at Murphy Center<\/li>\n
  • Improvements to the Faulkinberry\u00a0Drive intersection<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Completion expected in December<\/em><\/p>\n

    Academic Classroom Building<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    • New center for the College of Behavioral and Health Sciences<\/li>\n
    • Consolidating of functional areas to the Criminal Justice Administration, Psychology, and Social Work departments<\/li>\n
    • Critically needed classrooms, offices, and lab spaces provided<\/li>\n
    • State funding received July 13<\/li>\n
    • $39.6 million total project cost<\/li>\n
    • 91,000 square feet\u00a0Building site located north\u00a0of the Student Union across<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

      MTSU Boulevard<\/strong>
      \n\u2022 Sitework construction (site utilities\u00a0and grading) starting late August; project completion expected summer 2020<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Building project manager: Turner Construction Co.<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Project architect: Bauer Askew Architecture<\/p>\n

      Parking Services Facility<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \u2022 New home for Parking Services, including parking permits, bus maintenance, and personnel offices<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Design phase completed<\/p>\n

      \u2022Bids opened Aug. 22<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Construction starting this fall and\u00a0finishing in winter 2019<\/p>\n

      \u2022 Located on City View Drive<\/p>\n

      \u2022 $3.4 million total project cost<\/p>\n

      \u2022 13,000-square-foot building area<\/p>\n

      Parking and Transportation Improvements<\/strong><\/p>\n

        \n
      • $1.580 million construction cost<\/li>\n
      • New surface and lighting at\u00a0Greenland Drive parking lot<\/li>\n
      • New sidewalks and lighting\u00a0along Alumni Drive and Military\u00a0Memorial Drive<\/li>\n
      • Improved pedestrian access to\u00a0Livestock Lot and new lighting<\/li>\n
      • Wider sidewalks along Founders Lane<\/li>\n
      • Currently under construction, with\u00a0completion this fall<\/li>\n
      • Small roundabout at Military\u00a0Memorial and Champion Way<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        Peck Hall Renovations<\/strong><\/p>\n

          \n
        • $924,000 construction cost<\/li>\n
        • Interior improvements, including\u00a0new lighting at corridors and refinishing of terrazzo flooring on second and third levels<\/li>\n
        • New ceiling and lighting at breezeways<\/li>\n
        • New furnishings for courtyard areas<\/li>\n
        • Project completion this fall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          Dining<\/strong><\/p>\n

          Changes are occurring in the Student Union. We are replacing the Dippers venue and installing a \u201crestaurant rotation\u201d concept. Rotation options will include:<\/p>\n

          \u2022 Barbeque District (Texas BBQ) \u2022 BibimBox (Korean food)<\/p>\n

          \u2022 Medi-Eats (Mediterranean-inspired cuisine)<\/p>\n

          \u2022 Noodle Fix (global noodle dishes)<\/p>\n

          \u2022 O-mori Ramen Bar (build-your-own\u00a0Ramen dish)<\/p>\n

          \u2022 Road Trip America (regional\u00a0American cuisine, such as\u00a0New England classics)<\/p>\n

          \u2022 Taco del Seoul (Korean flavors\u00a0and Mexican fusion)<\/p>\n

          \u2022 Zoca (Mexican fare)<\/p>\n

          We also will begin offering breakfast at Steak \u2019n Shake this fall.
