Quality Enhancement Plan

Program Development Committee

The QEP Plan Development Committee works under the direction of the Institutional Accreditation Liaison, QEP Director, and QEP Leadership Team to prepare Middle Tennessee State University’s Quality Enhancement Plan for submission to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) as part of the University’s decennial reaffirmation of accreditation.

Assessment and SLO development (A)

Co-Chairs: Jenna Gray-Hildenbrand and Beka Moore

Create the learning outcomes (maximum of 3) and program goals; determine/ create appropriate assessment measures; and timing of assessments. Determine how we will measure success (benchmarks) and how we will use results for improvement.  

Human and Financial Resources (HR) 

Co-Chairs: Nita Brooks and Matthew Duncan

Create the 5-year budget and determine all resources needed. For example, resources for building awareness of QEP topic on campus, town hall meetings, specs for QEP initiatives, staff, space, assessment resources, etc. The budget should match the action/ goals and vice versa. For example, if the human and financial resources group lists a staff position, then the strategy and action group should have hiring that position as an action item.

Research to Assess Need (R) 

Co-Chairs: Grant Gardner and Samantha Johnson

Conduct a literature review for the topic and provide a report; Research best practices for the committee to consider in implementing the plan. For example, research associated topics and pass along ideas to other subcommittees; could be types of internships and/or wellness programs. 

Strategy and Action Planning (SAP) 

Co-Chairs: Chandra Story and Shannon Harmon

Create the 5-year implementation plan with the actions/goals to be achieved each year, person responsible, and deadlines. For example, create a faculty development plan, marketing plan, pilot program, phase I and phase II, etc.
