{"id":26,"date":"2025-02-13T16:55:53","date_gmt":"2025-02-13T16:55:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/sacscoc\/?page_id=26"},"modified":"2026-04-18T16:30:29","modified_gmt":"2026-04-18T21:30:29","slug":"reaffirmation","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/sacscoc\/reaffirmation\/","title":{"rendered":"Reaffirmation of Accreditation"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Middle Tennessee State University\u2019s accreditation by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sacscoc.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges<\/a>\u00a0(SACSCOC) is currently under review. The Commission approved MTSU for its\u00a0Differentiated Review\u00a0Process, for which we will demonstrate compliance with selected accreditation standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>MTSU\u2019s Reaffirmation\u00a0Leadership Team\u00a0attended orientation at the SACSCOC Annual Meeting in December 2023.\u00a0Division Leads\u00a0and other key individuals prepared the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtsu.edu\/sacscoc\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/164\/2025\/02\/DR_CCR_Template.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Compliance\u00a0Certification\u00a0Report<\/a>\u00a0submitted by MTSU in  September 2025. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Reaffirmation Off-Site Review Committee provided its report in November 2025, and the University submitted a Focused Report addressing areas of noncompliance in February 2026.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Reaffirmation On-Site Review Committee visit took place March 23-25, 2026.\u00a0Next steps in the University&#8217;s reaffirmation of institutional accreditation include the following reviews.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>MTSU receives the Reaffirmation Committee&#8217;s report.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SACSCOC&#8217;s Committee on Compliance and Reports, a standing committee of the SACSCOC Board of Trustees, reviews the Reaffirmation Committee\u2019s report and makes a recommendation to the SACSCOC Board\u2019s Executive Council.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SACSCOC Board&#8217;s Executive Council recommends action to the full SACSCOC Board of Trustees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The SACSCOC Board of Trustees makes the final decision
