HAMMILL EARNS C-USA ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM ACCOLADE

IRVING, Texas - The Conference USA office announced the 2017 InTouch Credit Union All-Academic Team on Tuesday with sophomore setter Taylor Hammill representing the Blue Raiders on the 13-player team.

Hammill finished the regular season leading the Blue Raiders in assists, recording 819 on the season to rank fifth overall in team history since the 25-point era. The Greenwood, Indiana, product averaged 9.00 assists per set, C-USA's sixth-best average during the season.

Similarly, Hammill showed success from the service line, tallying 32 aces throughout the season to rank sixth among Conference USA competitors and in team history since the 25-point conversion.

"Taylor has a role on the team as a leader and liaison between the coaches and the players on the court. The setting role is one that demands focus, attention to detail, and a great work ethic," said assistant coach Stephanie Zielinski. "Taylor embodied the setting role well, especially for a transfer sophomore. Her physical ability to push the ball across the court from any angle is an impressive part of her skill set. As a student athlete, Taylor demonstrated discipline and great time management skills to complete all of her work on the road and continue to excel as a Mechatronics Engineering Major".
