RECOVER Program Information

WHAT IS THE RECOVER PROGRAM?

  • The RECOVER program focuses on enhancing student engagement, retention, and success of probation students.
  • Students are required to opt-in to the RECOVER program for Spring 2021 before the 3rd week of school.
  • Throughout the Spring 2021 semester, students are required to attend five “This Semester Matters” workshops.
  • One component of the RECOVER program is financial support through microgrants that participants may apply for up two times during the fall semester.
  • Student Success Checks will be requested of instructors for students in the RECOVER program.
  • Student Success Coaches will work with RECOVER participants throughout the semester.

 WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN THE RECOVER PROGRAM?

  • ALL students with an academic standing of probation may participate, but the program has a focus on underrepresented underclassmen.
  • We highly encourage probation students who fall into the following categories:
    • First - Generation
    • Minority Students
    • Freshmen (0 – 29.99 Earned Hours)
    • Sophomore (30 -45 Earned Hours)

HOW DO STUDENTS ENROLL?

Students may enroll by doing the following:

  • Complete the RECOVER Pre-Entry form
  • Attend the first two “This Semester Matters” workshops

WHY SHOULD STUDENTS PARTICIPATE?

  • The RECOVER program will support students academically, socially, and financially.
  • The RECOVER program will aid in helping probation students persist to the next semester.
  • RECOVER will allow students to build a strong support system with administration, faculty, peers, and fellow participants.

RECOVER Student Success Check (SSC) Information for Instructors

One component of the RECOVER program is Student Success Checks (SSC).  SSC is an early alert system that provides an opportunity for MTSU faculty, advisors, and staff to intervene and offer support for students at pivotal points in the semester.
