MAT (Miller Analogies Test)


Anyone wishing to apply to a graduate school that accepts or requires the MAT as an admission examination can take the MAT. The MAT is computerized, and is administered by appointment only in Keathley University Center, room 107.

There are 120 questions and the test is timed at 60 minutes. Score is based on the number of questions answered correctly. The graduate office of the school to attend can interpret scores.

Test Dates

Miller Analogies Tests are administered Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.  Please call MTSU Testing Services at 615-898-2863 to set up an appointment.

Items required at testing appointment

You must present two valid (i.e., unexpired) forms of identification (ID).

  • Your primary form of ID must be government-issued and contain both your photograph and your signature.
      • Acceptable primary forms of ID (government-issued wit hphotograph and signature) include:
          • driver's license
          • government-issued identification card or passport
  • The second form of ID is not required to have your photograph or signature.
      • Acceptable secondary forms of ID (photograph and signature not required) include:
          • credit card
          • library card
          • utility bill with your name and address appearing exactly the same as on your primary form of ID

It is preferable that you know your address and you bring your social security card as the testing software requires the information.

An unofficial score report will be available after testing. Expect official MAT results within 2 to 3 weeks via U.S. mail. You may contact Pearson at 800-622-3231. Study materials may be obtained at various bookstores and also at www.milleranalogies.com.

Visitors (Parking Passes)

All visitors are requested to contact Parking and Transportation Services office at  205 City View Drive or go online, create a guest account, and print a visitor pass.

Please see parking notices for the latest changes in parking on campus. All legal parking areas are designated by signs, painted stripes, or other marks. Be sure to check the posted signs BEFORE you park your automobile. If it isn't marked, don't park!  For parking questions, visit Parking Services' website.

Additional Information

  • The cost per test is $80.00 plus a $3.50 online convenience fee.
  • This test can be retaken as many times as you want.
