Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

joseph

Note from the Director...

Welcome to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Most of you probably already know this story AND this show. It is an Andrew Lloyd Webber favorite and has long been a favorite of mine. The wonderful musical numbers in varying styles - jazz, western, rock and calypso, to name a few -put me in mind of the vaudeville style variety show, a time gone by when acting troupes travelled by train from town to town and theatre to theatre, never quite knowing what type of venue in which they would be performing. So, “step right up” we invite you to join our troupe in this our latest “stop” as we dust off the travel and our own weariness of daily living for a chance to shine. Life can be like that too at times. We all get “dusty,” a bit worn down by the business of doing all the things we think we should and often let the distractions of the world weigh so heavily on us that we lose our direction. We forget the things we once dreamed of and fail to realize our full potential. But what if we were sent a reminder, and our faith in who we are and who we were created to be was strong enough to help us rise above the distractions and weight of the world? In today’s performance you will be presented with flashing lights, smoke, a multitude of colors – dare I say, a “technicolor spectacle.” But don’t be distracted! We encourage you to remember your dreams, to trust and have faith that dreams can be achieved, that amazing things can happen, that you can be made new, “to tell the tale of a dreamer like you --- any dream will do.” - Kristi Shamburger
